The winner of season 11 of American Idol Announced!
The powerful singer 16-year-old Jessica Sanchez and Phillip Phillips lover of 21 years were the last two survivors in the final competitors.
A record number of votes were cast after last night - 132 million!
On the previous evening (Tuesday May 22) the finalists performed a selection of songs chosen by the creator of the competition, Simon Fuller.
First, the singer of 16 years old, she sang her version of "I Have Nothing" by Whitney Houston, while the melodic singer 21 years old, gave his version of "Stand By Me" by Ben E. King.
During the second round, former pawnshop employee gave her sexy rendition of Billy Joel's "Moving Out", while Jessica sang the hit "The Prayer" by Yolanda Adams.
Finally, completing his third round, Sanchez sang her song "Change Nothing", but the judges were not thrilled with the performance.
Phillips closed the things to get a standing ovation for his song "Home", which praised Jackson and said, "Man, I loved the song, I have loved, loved the marching band, all that was perfect! ".
And the winner was ... PHILLIP PHILLIPS obviously! PHILLIP PHILLIPS! PHILLIP PHILLIPS!
