No es la primera vez que la sombra de la pantalla amarillenta planea sobre los dispositivos de Apple. Hubo quejas con el iPhone 3G, con el iPhone 4 e incluso con el iPad 2. Entre las posibles causas que circulan en Internet una apunta al pegamento empleado durante el ensamblaje, que aún estaría fresco, pero que se solucionaría cuando se secara completamente. Sin embargo, otros descartan que sea culpa de los pegotes de adhesivo, porque eso sería si hubiera manchas aleatorias en la pantalla.

Otros comentarios lo achacan a la variabilidad de los paneles utilizados, y alguno dice que es una cuestión de calibración de la pantalla. Incluso, un usuario afirma preferir la pantalla con una temperatura de color cálida en lugar de fría. Si el problema persiste durante una semana, algunos usuarios sugieren acudir al servicio técnico del punto de venta y pedir que lo cambien por otro iPhone 4S. Otros afirman haber conseguido que se lo reemplazaran, pero que en el nuevo subsiste el problema.

El iPhone 4S, presentado un día antes de muerte de Steve Jobs, se agotó en los establecimientos de Apple, tras una pre venta realizada a través de su tienda on-line este fin de semana. Sin embargo, a partir del 14 de octubre lo podrá comprar en cualquier local de la compañía. 

El último modelo tiene una capacidad de 16 gigas, cámara de 8 megapíxeles, video de alta resolución y un destacado sistema de reconocimiento de voz, Siri, que permitirá manipular el calendario, el correo y otras funciones con solo pronunciar palabras, informa infobae.com.

Su valor es de US$199 dólares con un contrato de permanencia de dos años. Se le considera el más barato y el de mayor stock disponible, pero sorprendentemente batió records de ventas.

Asimismo, las reservas de las versiones de 32 gigas (US$ 299 dólares) y 64 gigas (US$ 399 dólares) también se acabaron. En resumen, Apple vendió alrededor de 73 millones de iPhone en todo el mundo, convirtiéndose en uno de los smartphones más exitosos.

Mucho cacareo, mas de un año de espero y es casi mas de lo mismo, su rival Samsung celebra esa metida de pata, pero sera acaso el iPhone 4s que el buque insignia del gigante Coreano? Muchos abogados peleando por que Samsung no llega a mas mercados. Una señal de que saben que la competencia es mas poderosa que uno tal vez?



A continuacion un detallado analisis:

Una vez presentado el iPhone 4S, el menú de smartphones de 2011 puede considerarse ya servido, aunque llegue con retraso. Ante esto, y ahora sí, con todas las de la ley, ya es posible preguntarse ¿cuál es el móvil más potente y atractivo del mercado? Lógicamente, puestos a establecer una comparación, el Samsung Galaxy S2 sería el primer rival a batir sobre la lona.

A la hora de plantearse la comparativa, hay que tener en cuenta un pequeño detalle, aún a riesgo de resultar reiterativos: el Samsung Galaxy S2 es un teléfono que, aunque experimentó alguna pequeña modificación entre su presentación en febrero y su lanzamiento a finales de abril, lleva ya unos meses entre nosotros, mientras que el iPhone 4S no llegará a las tiendas hasta el 14 de octubre (28 del mismo mes en caso del mercado español). Advertimos esto porque consideramos que la cronología de lanzamiento es fundamental para poder darle sentido a la comparativa. Y dicho esto, empezamos.

 

Diseño y pantalla

Abordemos el diseño en una doble dimensión: innovación y carácter práctico. Respecto a lo primero, el esfuerzo de Apple brilla por su ausencia. Se han limitado a repetir la jugada del iPhone 3GS, reeditando un formato que ya conocíamos por el iPhone 4. Hay quien podría opinar que, puestos a renovar el móvil, qué menos que sentir en las manos un nuevo teléfono, una experiencia que comienza con un aspecto renovado. Esa sensación por desgracia no la tendremos con el iPhone 4S.

No así con el Samsung Galaxy S2: más delgado, más ligero y con mayor solidez que el anterior Samsung Galaxy S. Cierto que este dispositivo está fabricado en materiales plásticos que en principio le confieren una sensación de mayor fragilidad. No obstante, ya te hemos contado muchas veces las críticas que también ha suscitado el bello diseño del iPhone 4, algo que seguirá patente en el iPhone 4S, con una carcasa de cristal que, a menos que protejamos con una funda, está sometida al peligro de rayones y, aún es más, a requebrajamientos en caso de recibir golpes.

Respecto a las pantallas de uno y otro, la apuesta de cada teléfono dista demasiado como para entrar en una confrontación igualada en términos. El Samsung Galaxy S2 pierde en definición, pero gana en calidad de panel. 

El Super AMOLED Plus que lleva el teléfono de Samsung consigue colores muy vivos y un brillo realmente espectacular, mientras que el iPhone 4S tiene a su mejor aliado en la brutal concentración de 326 puntos por pulgada para defender su pantalla IPS Retina. 

Eso sí, en tamaño se queda en 3,5 pulgadas frente a las 4,27 pulgadas del modelo europeo del Samsung Galaxy S2. Así, la pregunta de rigor que debe hacerse el usuario para valorar este capítulo no es otra que, ¿el tamaño importa?

Conectividad

El iPhone 4S equipa un sistema dual de antenas que lo hace homogéneo a todos los mercados donde vaya a comercializarse, algo que, en principio, a los distintos usuarios regionales no debería importarles demasiado (no así a los operadores). 

Además, presenta como una novedad la inclusión del sistema HSPA para las conexiones 3G, con tasas teóricas de transferencia de 14,4 Mbps. Poca discusión en este punto de la confrontación: el Samsung Galaxy S2 equipa el sistema HSPA+, capaz de desarrollar una velocidad de descarga de hasta 21 Mbps.

El resto de prestaciones en las conexiones inalámbricas es muy similar, con un pequeño matiz: el sistema de compartición de datos multimedia. Apple dispone de su propio estándar, el llamado AirPlay, compatible con terminales de la casa (iMac o AppleTV), que nos permite activar una función mirroring usando los accesorios de Apple, así como imprimir documentos con impresoras compatibles. 

Por su parte, el Samsung Galaxy S2 opta por una norma más extendida, el DLNA, actualmente compatible con muchos más dispositivos que participen en una misma red Wi-Fi. En este sentido, gana de nuevo el teléfono de Samsung por integrarse mejor con dispositivos de terceros.

Y en cuanto a las tomas del propio teléfono, el Samsung Galaxy S2 lleva un puerto microUSB compatible con adaptador MHL, que nos permitiría lanzar una señal de alta definición. El iPhone 4S, por su parte, insiste en la filosofía Apple con su toma propietaria dock, que, adaptador mediante, también puede conectar el teléfono con una pantalla de alta definición mediante HDMI.

Multimedia

Aquí la cuestión se hace más sensible. Salvando la dialéctica entre ambos terminales en el apartado de reproducción, donde el Samsung Galaxy S2 ganaría de calle (al ser compatible con la práctica totalidad de los formatos multimedia sin recurrir a aplicaciones de terceros o conversiones intermedias, incluyendo archivos Flash nativos), la confrontación se centraría en la cámara de fotos.

En calidad de captura, el Samsung Galaxy S2 y el iPhone 4S estarían igualados sobre el papel: ambos tienen sensores de ocho megapíxeles con función de vídeo FullHD con un barrido de 30 cuadros por segundo y flash LED. 

No obstante, quizás habría que reconocer que Apple ha puesto más esfuerzos para destacar en este apartado. El sensor del iPhone 4S es más rápido y más luminoso, dos puntos fundamentales en una cámara y que rara vez centra la preocupación de los fabricantes de móviles (con la excepción de Nokia, que tanto en el Nokia N8 como en el reciente Nokia N9 puso un profundo empeño en limar este apartado).

Así, la cámara del iPhone 4S permitiría activar y lanzar la primera foto en sólo 1,1 segundos, frente a los dos segundos que se tomaría el sistema del Samsung Galaxy S2. Además, gana en luminosidad, con una apertura de f/2,4 y un filtro de infrarrojos que mitiga aberraciones de color en la foto capturada consiguiendo resultados muy mejorados. 

Y eso por no hablar del estabilizador que participa en la grabación de vídeo, una de las características más reclamadas desde existen móviles con cámara y que viene a amortiguar el temblor en las filmaciones. Por todo esto, el apartado multimedia podría quedarse en tablas, con un punto para el Samsung Galaxy S2 por su reproductor y otro para el iPhone 4S por su cámara.

Hardware

Se esperaba que el iPhone 4S instalase el procesador del iPad 2, el A5 de doble núcleo a un GHz de velocidad. Y sin embargo, su confirmación dejó el gesto torcido entre quienes asistían con avidez a la presentación de este teléfono. 

La culpa en la árida reacción de éstos no es de Apple, sino de la competencia. Y es que ya estamos, por decirlo de algún modo, mal acostumbrados a ver teléfonos que llevan rapidísimos chips, como el Samsung Galaxy S2, con arquitectura de doble núcleo y potencia de entre 1,2 y 1,4 GHz. O, en otros casos, ingenios como el del LG Optimus 3D, que aunque no sean tan rápidos a priori (un GHz), desarrollan sistemas para ampliar notablemente su velocidad (en este caso, la memoria de doble canal, capaz de participar en el proceso de datos con una potencia muy superior a lo esperado).

Cierto que el iPhone 4S ha multiplicado por siete su potencia gráfica. No obstante, este margen tiene sentido en el iPad 2, con una pantalla de más de nueve pulgadas, algo que quizás no acabe de lucir en todo su esplendor en un panel de 3,5 pulgadas. 

Objetivamente, el aumento de 0,77 pulgadas en el Samsung Galaxy S2 no deberían ser tan notable, pero los usuarios que hayan tenido en la mano al mismo tiempo el terminal de la firma surcoreana y el iPhone 4 habrán notado que la diferencia es más que palpable. Especialmente, lanzando vídeo o juegos. Y ahí es donde hubiese marcado la diferencia el iPhone 4S con su renovado procesamiento gráfico, algo que, para muchos, se quedará en agua de borrajas.

Y pasando a la memoria, el debate en este punto es un clásico sujeto a opiniones. Hay quien no encuentra pegas en el hecho de que los iPhone no disponga de ranura de ampliación, como sí vemos en el Samsung Galaxy S2 (valiéndonos de tarjetas microSD de hasta 32 GB).

Otros, sin embargo, encuentran interesante tener un fondo integrado con otro complementario. Para gustos, colores. Lo objetivo, sin embargo, pasa por el hecho de que el iPhone 4S dispone de tres modelos según almacenaje (16, 32 y 64 GB), mientras que el Samsung Galaxy S2 discrimina entre modelos de 16 y 32 GB. Resulta difícil hacer una valoración absoluta de este apartado, por lo que te invitamos a que te planetees tus necesidades en el capítulo de la memoria.

Aplicaciones

Aquí hay que ponerse más serios. Apple hizo muchos esfuerzos por subrayar que el iPhone 4S es una renovación más patente en software que en hardware, de modo que el sistema en general y las aplicaciones en particular son el caballo de batalla de los de Cupertino para enfrentarse a sus competidores. 

No obstante, ¿tiene realmente razón de ser destacar el iPhone 4S por sus aplicaciones? Cierto que el teléfono de Apple es el que más apps descargables dispone a través de su tienda online (más de medio millón). Pero eso no hace atractivo al iPhone 4S, no al menos en comparación al iPhone 4, un teléfono que podríamos consensuar sin demasiado riesgo como ya superado por la competencia de última generación. Siendo así, ¿dónde reside el atractivo del iPhone 4S en el capítulo de las aplicaciones?

Uno de los argumentos estaría en Siri, el asistente personal que instala en exclusiva el iPhone 4S. Se trata de un sistema que interpreta y ejecuta órdendes a través de comandos de voz. El sistema funciona con voz natural, es decir, que no tendríamos que hablarle como un robot. Eso sí: sólo reconoce el inglés, el francés y el alemán por el momento, y no hay fecha para saber cuándo hablará la lengua de Cervantes.

Es un fallo de una magnitud tan pasmosa que no necesita justificación, aunque la aportaremos: más de 500 millones de usuarios hispanohablantes en todo el mundo, y la correspondiente cuota que representan, se quedan fuera de juego. 

Y eso por no hablar de los usuarios chinos. Una jugada nefasta por parte de Apple, máxime cuando sabemos que el Samsung Galaxy S2 sí que integra una función de estas características que, aunque no tan sofisticada, sí que entiende al usuario castellanoparlante. 

Además, el móvil de Samsung ofrece ese servicio a través de dos vías: desde la opción nativa que integra en exclusiva este modelo, y mediante los Comandos de Voz de Google, recientemente integrados en los Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

Por lo demás, el iPhone 4S integra otras funciones inherentes a iOS5, la nueva actualización de sistema de Apple para móviles y tabletas, disponible desde el 12 de octubre: iMessage (para enviar mensajes entre dispositivos iOS como si de Whatsapp se tratase), Cards (un extraño sistema para hacer postales que no tiene mucho sentido en móviles, ya que la postal sería física y cuesta dinero imprimir), el nuevo sistema de notificaciones (un clásico en Android que Apple se adjudica como el descubrimiento de la pólvora), integración de Twitter (ídem), Find my Friends (una función para localizar amigos, que se antoja como un primo-hermano de Google Latitude) o Remider (una agenda que integra otras funciones para informar al usuario de sus citas y quehaceres).

Autonomía

El talón de Aquiles de estas pequeñas bestias electrónicas de bolsillo es la fatídica autonomía que proporciona sus, admitámoslo, obsoletas baterías. No obstante, los fabricantes se afanan por seguir exprimiendo la actual tecnología de alimentación energética de los móviles, algo que a veces contenta y otras frustra.

En este caso concreto, Apple promete que el iPhone 4S aguantará ocho horas en uso 3G. ¿Cierto? Juzga tú mismo: el índice que soportaba teóricamente el iPhone 4 en las mismas circunstancias era de siete horas. Si eres o has sido usuario de esa edición, recuerda cuánto te aguantaba la batería dándole un uso normal y añádele una hora. O quizás menos, por prudencia.

En el caso del Samsung Galaxy S2, la autonomía se sitúa en unas siete y ocho horas igualmente, aunque en este caso, podemos decirte que es capaz de soportar esas jornadas de uso. Por otro lado, un detalle aparentemente nimio que finalmente no lo es se refiere a una opción tan sencilla como recurrente: la posibilidad de intercambiar la batería del teléfono.

El iPhone 4S, siguiendo la tradición de Apple, hace imposible esta tarea, mientras que el Samsung Galaxy S2 sí que nos permite reemplazar la batería. Así, en caso de tengamos que recurrir a una jornada de uso muy prolongada y sepamos que no tendremos a nuestra disposición un margen para recargar, con llevar otra batería bien cargada nos aseguramos una autonomía doble. No es una opción muy glamurosa, pero sí muy práctica.

Conclusiones

No nos andaremos por las ramas: ¿iPhone 4S o Samsung Galaxy S2? Sencillo: Samsung Galaxy S2. ¿Por qué? Es más completo, potente, novedoso y atractivo. Lógicamente, es una valoración sujeta a opiniones, y quien encuentre mejor, más bonito y más útil el iPhone 4S no tiene porqué sentirse reprochado. 

No obstante, el nuevo teléfono de Apple está irremisiblemente tocado con un sambenito que es innegable: la escasa innovación que el fabricante ha demostrado en su presentación, máxime, si consideramos que ha sido desvelado casi un año y medio después que su predecesor (el cual, dicho sea de paso, ya arrastraba notables fallos técnicos y comerciales, como el problema de las antenas y la incidencia con el modelo de carcasa blanca).

Nos guste o no, Apple generó amplias expectativas con su nuevo terminal. Además, el escenario de la telefonía móvil inteligente no es el mismo en octubre de 2011 que en junio de 2009, cuando se presentó el iPhone 3GS, quizás el modelo más cercano a la filosofía de este iPhone 4S de entre los cinco modelos que han sido lanzados al mercado.  

Hoy la competencia ya no ve la necesidad de etiquetarse como iPhone Killer, y planta la mirada en lo que hacen otros fabricantes de su mismo segmento: Apple ya no camina en solitario en innovación, y desde luego, no sólo Samsung, sino también HTC, LG, Sony Ericsson o Nokia seguro que respiran más tranquilos tras haberse dado a conocer el nuevo teléfono que propone Cupertino.

En resumidas cuentas, parte del juego del campo de los smartphones no es sólo sacar lo mejor (algo que puede llegar a estar sujeto a opiniones), sino en sacarlo antes que nadie. En este sentido, gran parte de la decepción del iPhone 4S reside en que todo lo que ha presentado quizás hubiese sido sorprendente o novedoso durante el primer trimestre del año, pero no cuando estamos cerrando un ejercicio con la vista puesta en el CES 2012, donde los fabricantes centrados en Android preparan una nueva revolución en el sector. Y ya no hablemos de las sorpresas que podrían mostrar Nokia y Microsoft en su andadura conjunta.
